I like playing Tag

High School

1. Did you date someone in high school? Yes, and now he's in federal prison.  Geez, hope it wasn't something I said?

2. What kind of car did you drive? No car- I hoofed it to school.

3. Did you pass your driver's license test the first time? Yes!

4. Were you a party animal? I don't know- no one ever asked me to one.

5. Were you considered a flirt? Only if they were from another school.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir

7. Were you a nerd? I was which kind of explains the party animal thing.  Ya know, I am not sorry about it either. I had a good time and had all kinds of friends and no juvy court referrals.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Well, I was a part of the cheer squad...the very cool mascot!
9. Did you ever get suspended or expelled?  No, but I got in trouble with my friend in the 7th grade for writing our names on a brick outside the school with a pen and had to work it off after school the next day.  We had to clean the girl's bathroom.  My friend Angela got a cowboy boot right in the butt from the principal who saw us.  She got to put maybe part of her name on it.  (I did it later.) That would have been cool to find the brick when they demolished the school.   Okay, I see where mothers would take this comment like sheep over the cliff... but really, EVERYBODY was doing it.

10.  Did you ever sluff?  I did for 1/2 a period.  This will show you what a geek I was.  My friend Chris and I signed ourselves out of class and as soon as we got off campus, we really didn't know what we were going to do so,we went back.  Geeks without a plan, so sad.

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mr. Moss, Mr. Osborn, Mrs. Mast, Mr. Stucki

12. Where did you sit at lunch?  At a table.

13. School mascot:  Beaver Beavers

14. School colors: Royal blue and white

15. Did you go to homecoming and who with? Hmmmm, yes, I went one year with with my friends- we traveled in a pack most of the time... and then another year with Mr. Federal Inmate.

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? I would like to go back only long enough to say a few things I never said to a few people that 1. deserved to be knocked down a couple pegs back then (and know that I would still live to tell about it) and 2. tell some that all the HS is nothing and they will like real life better (except for Mr. Federal Inmate- maybe he likes it better?).   Mostly to see Chris and Nathan  They were two of my best friends and I really miss them.

17. What do you remember most about graduation? That was sooooo long ago.  I would have to say all of graduation week.  Bittersweet knowing it was the LAST time we would all be together ever.

18. Where did you go on Senior Sluff? Lagoon

19. Were you in any clubs?Forensics, Drama, Choir, German

20. Have you gained weight since then?  Yep, but not much.

21. Who was your prom date? Mr. Federal Inmate!  It was not as fun as the one for the Class of 1986, tho.  I got asked by a friend a year younger than me and had a BLAST! Loads of fun.  Thanks Alan!

22. Are you planning on going to your next class reunion? I never miss one.

23. Did you have a job while in high school? Nope, My mom was smart and said, "You'll work the rest of your life.  Enjoy it while you can."  So, I did.

24. Worst class? Math, chemistry, anything to do with numbers.

25. Favorite class? Forensics, German, choir and radio (We had a radio station in our HS. I was the 5th period DJ during my senior year).

26.  Do you still dream about high school? All the time!  Especially that Chris has taken all the stuff out of my locker and filled my shelves with really big rocks (it really happened). Or that I am the lead in the musical and I've never been to practice and don't know anything that I should be doing on stage.  I have to keep asking people what I should be doing next.

27.  How many kids in your high school?  In your graduating class?  We had 7th -12th grade in the same school, roughly 400 kids.  At the time the class of 1985 was the biggest to graduate from BHS..65 kids.

28.  What was your most embarrassing moment, if you dare tell? It depended on the year.  Can't pinpoint just one, and looking back at teenage angst, they really weren't that bad.    Oooh, yeah, fainting in class wasn't cool.

29.  Favorite memory? Too many to count.  My friends are in them all...even Mr. Federal Inmate.

30.  Did you ever commit or were you involved in high school pranks? One.  During our senior year, Chris and I invented a transfer student (Kimberly Drake) and marked her absent for a week while the principal was gone to meetings (he called her to the office for absentee slips every day for a week), introduced her to the student body as a new student in the school newspaper, and entered her in the science fair.  She even got a participant ribbon.  THAT confused everyone (especially the principal and her 'favorite teacher')  That was a ball!

I tag... specifically Lenore, Emily W., Cindy Lou who, Kent, Jamie, Andrea and anybody that wants to do this one!

P.S.

LOL- thanx Kent. This now has all the numbers in the right order.  I copied it from a friend and never looked at it.  hahaha

My New Love

I am in love with my new Nikon P80!  I am just learning how to use it.  I happen to glance into my coffee mug last night and there was the reflection of the chandelier above it.  I think the pix turned out neat.  I love the zoom on this camera!

I had some fun today with a Japanese Maple leaf I found in the greenhouse.  It got to be the star today, much to the dismay of my cat who tried to get into the picture, chew my fingers and otherwise annoy the heck out of me while trying to get a shot.  You would think I had a 3 year old!  I tried a few times to get her nose (and teeth) in with the leaf, but I wasn't quick enough.

The End To A Perfect Day

4 Picture Tag

This Tag game consists of going to your blog photos and choosing the 4th picture.

This picture happens to be of my parents microwave after my dad made hummingbird food last summer.  The short story is that he wasn't in the kitchen and the pan caught on fire on the stove below and melted the microwave.

I don't know, ladies...you send your husband in to do a simple job and end up with a smelly kitchen, no bird food and new microwave.   Sounds like sixes to me.

I tag Andrea, Melinda, Cami and Jamie and whoever else cares to do it!

Happy Birthday Eric

Eric's birthday was on the 15th.  We celebrated and then broke out the marshmellows, again!  I don't think it was as cold outside as is was the first time...and he bought new marshmellows.   It's still weird to do that in January in the cold, but it was something fun and probably not many people do that.

Since I blog about him all the time, I will just say how fortunate I am to have him in my life.   He's taught me so much and makes me laugh everyday.  He's a wonderful friend and husband.

I love you!

Marshmellow surprise

Tonight Eric built a fire on the patio and after we hot tubbed, we roasted marshmellows. This is the first time we've tried the fire pit thing.   The marshmellows were old, but when they got out in the 20+ degree weather, they were really hard and crunchy.  Amazingly, we found we could twist them on the skewers and have some really bad campfire fare in our towels and bathrobes.

Body Worlds 3

Valerie and I went to The Body Worlds 3 exhibit at the Leonardo this weekend.   Very cool.  I enjoyed it and would recommend seeing this or any other one like it.

Under Armour

I LOVE this product.  Last year I bought a top, leggings, a hood and gloves for range shooting in the snow at the academy.  I am a puss in the cold.  I hate it and the snow.  I am usually a shut-in during the winter.  However, I have waited all year to wear my Under Armour gear again because it keeps me so toasty warm while I am pushing snow on the ATV and ride my Trikke in 12 degree weather.  Yes, I attribute all my recent outdoor wintertime ambition to this product (and the Trikke that I really want to ride).

So, if you hate snow like I do and need to have a life outside the house in the winter time, GO GET SOME!

Happy 2009!

Where did 2008 go? It zipped by faster than the last couple of years have. Time is getting faster, I swear! New Year's Eve and Day were gone before I knew it. It was spent with a 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle and the Twilight Zone Marathon on SciFi. This is my tradition-but one that I didn't get to do for 2 years in a row. Eric usually gets to work, so I stay up until 2 or 3 a.m. This year, he was home and we were asleep by 12:30. This puzzle is a monster! I wanted it, bought it and am now wondering 'WHAT WAS I THINKING?'

I worked Dec 31st. I was craving pizza all last week, so at noon, Eric showed up at the office with a large 5-Buck pizza! What a nice thing to do. Connie and I got to have pizza and it was darn good. Thanks hon, YOU ROCK!

So, for this year, I am feeling that 2009 is going to be and interesting year. For those of you that know me well, know that following perceptions and intuition are biggies for me. So, we'll see how things go at work.

I wish that you are all safe, and have an abundance of health and happiness this year!
