The BIG little post of 'WHY'

WHY I don't have kids.

Be very afraid!

Why isn't this a picture of a silver Prius between two Hummers?
You all want my car, I know it!

Why Urie Geller isn't invited to eat at my house.

Yikes! Why does that trailer look like my old house?

Table Sharks and Patio Vultures

(Jacques Cousteau narrative)
Tonight we decided to eat on the patio under lights.
Our new patio furniture and BBQ-ed pork chops
were eyed by the curious predator.

Searching for prey (or a sucker) the Table Shark is nonchalant;

She is coy- ignoring her mark until at the right moment she moves in

for a close-up

and a bite~

Upon gaining her evening meal, she switches roles and retires to the perch above the patio where she eyes her terrain with vulturesque intensity.

Those who dare to try and kick her off the hot tub will be glared at with distain and fiercely ignored, leaving the humans to wish there was a CAT-a -pult on the patio.

For SHE is the queen of the patio
and the humans are dumb enough to let her think it.

Creative Writing

It has taken me almost two years to hang something on a wall other than two clocks.  My favorite piece of art in our house was handmade and very cool to watch the artist at work.

A few years ago, Eric and I met his cousins in Las Vegas for a weekend getaway. While there, we watched an oriental lady doing some art with ink and blades of some sort.  No brush work at all!  She would do your name and add an artistic touch to it making the letters into animals, trees or flowers.  She would load the different blades with ink and put them to paper.  I'd never seen anything like it or seen anyone do it, so I had to have one.  So, we watched her make one for us. Completely amazing!

I didn't think much of it, but Eric finally confessed to me a couple years ago that he could finally could finally see 'EBERLE' in all of that.  Can you?

The "Almost Fall" Haul

Pretty good, huh?  We HAD to pick this week.  We've had quite a few during the weeks, but we've given them away and eaten a ton.

Check out Mother Nature's artwork on the top of this tomato!

Wicked!

Nope, not the musical...THE RIDE! Valerie, the girls and I went to Lagoon yesterday and we rode 'Wicked' very first. Nothing else came close that ride the entire day!

There was a ride that may have come close to the thrill of Wicked, but mid-day, after Brinley dragged me on the Tilt 'N Hurl (right after my last bite of sandwich, mind you), I was lookin for the Dramamine! Really, how do you say NO to a 7 year old that really, really wants YOU to go on a ride with her? I've decided maybe throwing up in the middle of the ride next time might work.
I am glad we were both still smiling after the ride.

Our family went to Lagoon a few times when we were kids, my class went for Senior Sluff, and then in 1989 with the family again. The realization that I had not been to Lagoon in about 18 years was coupled with Valerie's observation that you can no longer look for people on the ground or around the park because the trees are way too big now! When we were kids we'd try to find our parents from the sky tram.

Now, here are some very good questions: WHO were the people that made it necessary to have these signs? What happened to them as a result, and WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

The sign says "Do not stand here. Exit completely down the ramp."
So, I asked Valerie to stand there to see what would happen. Nothing fell on her and we didn't get ejected for loitering (5 seconds), so I suppose it has a purpose for some.

Since mom and dad weren't there, we did things (other than disobeying the signage) that we couldn't do when we were kids. Mom, Dad: We went on the Wild Mouse (nah nah nah nah nah)! It really is a jolting ride for kids ( yeah, they were right) and that type font doesn't go any smaller, either! The other thing we did was Valerie and I went to Dracula's Castle, too--really, for the first time. As a little kid, I probably would have been traumatized over that (okay, they were right about that, too. If they don't ever read this post, they will never know.) for a while.

We had a good day and had fun with only a little drama. Valerie, Cianna, and Brinley, Thanks for asking me to go with you- Love you all!

Talk Radio

This is the studio where I work...or used to work from until I got the opportunity to do the studio stuff from home. Delta is 45 mins northwest from Kanosh. I went over today to get some papers, and thought I'd better blog about the studio. It is a talk radio station owned by the Accent Radio Network (Yep, the 'Daniel Chapter One' people). You can find them at http://www.radioforthefamily.com/

Like my profile says, I maintain the public file, download a file or two, record the funeral announcements and various PSAs and schedule them for airplay. The interior is radio station-like, mikes, receivers, computers, chairs.

***RANT WARNING***

It's a good thing I just took a photo of the sign...the glass doors would show that this is also being used as someone's personal storage unit. Boxes and bags of stuff all over the office, hallway and big studio. It frustrates me to no end! It is cluttered, but today is looking somewhat better. It has been SOOOO bad in there where you really had to watch where you were stepping. I've tripped over stuff for 3 years in that place. One day I punted a fan down the hall (not a person... Frankly, I don't think KNAK has listeners or fans...really, if something gets screwed up, don't you think more people-or even just ONE- would call to complain?).

Hey, tomorrow I am going to Lagoon with my sister, Valerie and her girls. Pix to follow.
